Happy Halloween!
31 Oct
Michaela declared some months ago that she wanted to be grapes for Halloween. Why? Because her favorite color is purple, and what’s more purple than a bunch of grapes?
Mike took charge and made her a great costume out of a purple shirt and pants, purple felt, and purple balloons. He cut the felt (which doesn’t unravel and therefore doesn’t need hemming) into a type of poncho, and affixed the balloons to the poncho using safety pins through the knotted part of the balloons. He did the front only, so Michaela could still sit down and function easily during the school day and while trick or treating. It was great!
My contribution was green hair spray paint, so she would have an appropriate stem.
As you can see, she loved her costume.
We wandered the streets of our neighborhood trick or treating while Mike stayed home to give out candy.
At a certain point, Michaela got tired. So tired she collapsed on the sidewalk (…mostly to examine her candy collection)!
Happy Halloween!
