Happy New Year

17 Jan

January 17 isn’t too late to write a new year post, is it?

What can I say? The month’s been really busy.

Mike’s business has grown by leaps and bounds, which is very gratifying. He works really hard and is super talented; it’s nice to see other people recognize that (in the form of them giving him money to do what he does!).

Michaela has turned into a little girl. All of a sudden, she’s using all these colloquialisms (“Great balls of fire!” and “Good grief!” are my latest favorites), she’s making friends and starting to write more and more letters. She’s right-handed, as it turns out, but I’m not holding it against her. Even though my mom and I are both left-handed.

As for me, so far, January has been really great professionally. I was profiled by our local public Relations Society of America chapter. I won two state-level awards for my work and gave a well-received presentation at the California School Public Relations Association conference. I was also invited to speak at this year’s National School Public Relations Association conference.

Hopefully the rest of 2014 will be just as positive and exciting, not just for us, but also for you!
