Weddings, Weddings

It’s been a wedding-intensive summer!  Two weeks ago, my friend Ruchika married her boyfriend Bobby in a beautiful ceremony in Newport Beach.  The couple looked so happy, and everyone had a great time.  I especially enjoyed the delicious Indian food and the gorgeous lengha (a type of traditional Indian outfit consisting of a skirt, blouse and long scarf) Neeru’s mom helped me pick out.  Ruch’s smile– which is usually wide anyway– was huge.  She beamed the whole time.  And Bobby looked very handsome in his tux.

A week after Ruch’s wedding, Mike and I were in Pasadena for the wedding of my college roommates and friends Way and Kevin.  Way asked me to perform the ceremony, so I got ordained online through the Universal Life Church and had the incredible honor of pronouncing them husband and wife.  What a blast!  Way was absolutely radiant– everyone I’ve spoken with who has seen the pictures commented on how beautiful she looked (especially her dress, which looked great on her).  Kevin looked very handsome and was, in my humble opinion, cool and calm under the pressure.  After the ceremony (which went well, except for a little microphone trouble at the beginning), we enjoyed a reception.  Mike and I sat at the same table with CMC folks, and we and Curtis and Mary Ellen ate, chatted, drank and danced the night away.

Now we’re done with weddings for the summer.  Phew!

How long until that cruise?

I hope this will continue to update.  In case there is any confusion about how long it will be until we go on vacation.  ;-)
